Rainy day outting

Today I had planned to take Emerson to the zoo. She's been before but I think she was more interested in all the kids running around. Now that she is a little older and the busy summer days have given way to rain I am sure she'd enjoy the animals. Well a cloudy day turned into a rainy day and so I opted for a trip to PetSmart. I was determined to show her animals. What a great idea I must say! Emmie was oohing and wowing at all the brightly colored parakeets and sweet little orange beaked finches. She kissed the glass cases that held the hamsters and made a little fishy mouth back to all the googly eyed goldfish. Clearly an exciting outing for her. As we were leaving she was saying "bye" to everything and continued with her "oohs" and "wow's" in the car. I love watching her enjoy such simple things in life. What a privilege to introduce her to the wonders of this world. She is giving me a new sense of appreciation for everything around me.
